Joyce Boyd

Mrs. Joyce M. Boyd, 84, of White, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Star Manor Assisted Living.
A native of Bartow County, she was born on July 21, 1934, the daughter of the late Harley E. McMichen and Edith Hill Jackson.
Joyce was a member of Atco Baptist Church and loved Jesus with all of her heart. In her younger years, she sang in a trio at First Congressional Methodist Church. She was the matriarch of her family and enjoyed cooking. Joyce was known for her unique sense of humor. Preceding her in death along with her parents is her husband, Thomas Jackson (Jack) Boyd; her daughter, Judy Diane Boyd; and brother-in-law, James (Jimmy) Morris.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Hightower Barton and husband, Craig; her grandchildren, Heath Hightower, Grant Hightower and wife, Angela, Erin Shifflette and husband, Cameron, Lance Gresham and wife, Katie; 6 great-grandchildren; along with her sister, Angela Morris; and her nieces, Karen Smith, Susan Vaughan, and Vicky Story.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Reverend Mike Boatfield and The Reverend Doug Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 -8- p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Gresham, Heath Hightower, Grant Hightower, Cameron Shifflette, Kyle Smith and Neil Vaughan.
