J.T. Griffin

Mr. J.T. Griffin, age 83, of Panama City Beach, FL, a former resident of Rome, GA, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in Florida.Mr. Griffin had been a resident of Panama City Beach for the past 11 years, moving there from Rome. He was a long time builder and retired carpenter. Mr. Griffin was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local #225 and the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5, American Legion.Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ernestine Griffin of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Betty Sue Erwin and her husband, Michael, of Panama City Beach; a son, Tom Griffin of Ellijay, GA; a sister, Mary Jean Tate of Rome; three grandchildren, Chelsea Erwin and Whitney Erwin, both of Panama City Beach, and Melissa Griffin of Ellijay; a former daughter-in-law, Rosalind Griffin.Graveside and interment services for Mr. Griffin will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.Mr. Griffin will lie in-state at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Saturday) evening from 6 until 8 p.m.Please join Mr. Griffin's family in honoring his life by visiting www.jenningsfuneralhome.com to share memories.The Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the funeral of Mr. J.T.
