Juanita Massey

Mrs. Juanita Massey, age 86, of Cartersville and widow of J.E. Massey, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Townsend Park Health & Rehab. She was born July 19, 1929 in Gainesville, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Tate Bivens and Ella Cochran Bivens Roy.

Juanita was a long time member of Gilmer Street Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Chuch. She was a devout Christian, devoted to visitation, sang in the choir, and supported many ministries. She was also active in The Eastern Star and was a greeter at the church for over 28 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Avery Bivens and her sister, Dolly Sheppard.

Survivors include her brother, Gary Bivens and wife, Pat; her sister, Ann North; her nephew, Charles Greenway and wife, Myrtice; her sister-in-law, Nadine Talbert; her nieces and nephews, Linda Goble and husband, Sammy, Sherry Takacs and husband, John; Wanda and Douglas Burton, Carolyn Ferguson, Steven and Dede Bivens, Dale and Christine Bivens, Patrick North, Michael North and Gary Wayne and Dawn Bivens. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Doug Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Deacons of Grace Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
