Mrs. Juanita Lourine Stroup, age 85, of Rome, Ga. died Monday, April 20, 2009 in a Rome hospital.
Mrs. Stroup was born in Atlanta, GA, on November 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Samuel Luther Robinson and Mittie Velma Moore Robinson. She had spent the greater part of her life in the Shannon Community. Mrs. Stroup for a number of years was employed by the Brighton Plant of Burlington Mills. Prior to retirement Mrs. Stroup owned and operated the Highway Photo Studio on the Calhoun Road. Mrs. Stroup was a volunteer Granny at the Northwest Regional Hospital. She was a member of Northwood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Stroup was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Richard Stroup, December 26, 1979; a son, Richard Lamar Stroup, April 14, 1988; step-daughter, Doris Ford.
Survivors include her sister, Leila Hamrick of Rome, GA; step-daughter, Mary and Broadus Tate of Adairsville; step-son, Stanford Stroup of Ohio; two grandsons, Kevin Stroup and Keith Stroup; nine step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home with Mr. Bobby Sprayberry officiating. Interment will follow in the East View cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.
