Mrs. Judy D. Southworth, 63, of Cartersville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her residence. A native of Bartow County born on April 30, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Paul Silas Cornwell and the late Ada Young Cornwell. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, Wayne and Dane; and her sisters, Carol, Hazel, Mary and Diane.
Judy was involved in the Atlanta Christian Crisillo for many years and a member of Euharlee Baptist Church where she was in the Baptist Women�s Association and on the youth council. She was employed by Kennesaw State University until the onset of her illness.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bill Southworth; her children, Greg and Alyssa Cordell, Susan and Daniel Sewell and Troy and Emily Hoyle; her grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Lexi, Lucas, Josh, Joshua, Billy, Braden and Michaela; and a great grandchild, Jamie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Euharlee Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Butler, Rev. Keith Dempsey, Rev. Thomas Chapman and Rev. Jerome Black officiating. Mrs. Southworth will be carried to the church on Saturday to lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Rydal.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m., Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
