June Ponder Boss, 84, of Cartersville, Ga passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 while surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Boss was born on April 28, 1937 to the late Eugene Ponder and Gertrude Cantrell Ponder.
June is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Judy Ponder Branton, Carolyn Ponder Wolff, Kenneth Ponder, Marshall Ponder, and Phyllis Ponder Cagle; grandson, Gavin Brion Moore, and son in law, Kerry Moore.
Mrs. Boss is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hugh Boss Jr.; children; Angela Boss Moore, Teresa Boss Wade, Malcolm (Carla) Boss; grandchildren; Nicholas (Shea) Wade, Natalie (Chris) Taylor, Tyler (Katie) Boss, Jody Boss, Janna (Austin) Reynolds; great-grandchildren; Ethan Bourdon, Jackson Taylor, Tatum Taylor, River Wade, Avery Wade, Willow Wade, Reed Boss, Logan Boss, Liv Boss, Jace Reynolds, Addie Jo Reynolds, and Jameson Reynolds; sister; Annette Ponder Carroll; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As a master cosmetologist, Mrs. Boss owned and operated Boss Beauty Shop in Atco, Ga. for 21 years. She loved her customers and looked forward to caring for them each week. She retired from hairdressing in 1993 due to health reasons. June battled many health issues over the years, but always remained strong in her faith and gained strength from her greatest joys, her grandchildren. June was an active member of Atco Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 41 years. Mrs. Boss was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 Woman. She took pride in caring for and loving on her husband, children, and grandchildren. Proverbs 31:27 says, "There are many capable women, but you surpass them all". Anyone who had the privilege of knowing June Boss, knew that she "surpassed them all". She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue for generations to come.
A funeral service will be held at Atco Baptist Church on Friday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 2nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville Georgia.
Pallbearers will include Mrs. Boss's grandsons; Nicholas Wade, Tyler Boss, Jody Boss, Chris Taylor, and Austin Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will include Mrs. Boss's great-grandsons; Ethan Bourdon, Jackson Taylor, River Wade, Reed Boss, Logan Boss, Jace Reynolds, and Jameson Reynolds.
