Karen Hensley

December 29, 1957 — April 16, 2013

Karen A. Hensley, 55, of Cartersville Georgia passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday April 16, 2013.

Diagnosed with Cancer in 2005, Karen was given six months to live. Members at Atco Baptist Church, Karen and her family joined with their church family and other church families interceding on her behalf. As promised in James 5:16, the earnest prayers of the righteous availed much. God's hand moved and Karen enjoyed 8 more years. She was able to enjoy her grandsons and further develop her relationship with Jesus which had begun when she was ten years old. Toward the end of her journey, she became more and more excited about moving to her forever home and comforted those around her by sharing the many ways God was preparing her and revealing His presence to her. She truly experienced the peace that passes all understanding mentioned in Philippians 4:7.

Pre-deceased by her parents, Joe and Mary Yates of Marmaduke AR, as well as her brother Joseph M. Yates, Karen is survived by her husband of 28 years, Tim Hensley, her sister Mary Elizabeth Fletcher of Paragould AR, her daughter and son-in-law Khristie & Chris Kelly of Cartersville and her three grandsons Brennen, Christian & Carson.

Per her wishes, there are no services scheduled. She asked that anyone wishing to honor her send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis TN. Donations may be made online at www.stjude.com/tribute or by mail to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-142.
