Katherine Simmons

Mrs. Katherine Fox Simmons, age 89 of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Rome died Saturday, January 24, 2009, in a nursing home.



Mrs. Simmons was born August 30, 1919, in Maryville, TN, the daughter of the late William Fox and Alice Helton Fox. She was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Paul B. Simmons; a son, Harold B. Simmons; two brothers, Fremont Fox and Billy Fox; and a sister, Virginia Richey.



Survivors include two grandchildren, Ken Simmons and Kim Lewis; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Prentice Fox; and a sister, Juanita Fuller.



Graveside and interment services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at 2:30 P.M. in the Sunset Hill Memory Gardens with Rev. Bob Skelton officiating.



The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 1:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.
