Mrs. Kathryn O. Perry Baker age 78, of 372 Turkey Mountain Road, Armuchee, GA, died Friday, February 22, 2008.

Mrs. Baker was born in Armuchee, GA, on November 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Earnest Perry and Derrell Thomas Perry. She attended Berry College and North Georgia Business School. Mrs. Baker worked at Rome Manufacturer and Dixie Ohio Trucking Company as a bookkeeper. Also, Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of New Armuchee Baptist Church. She loved making ceramics, gardening, and needle point, but most of all loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her husband on October 13, 2005, Alpha "Hildon" Baker to whom she was married on July 26, 1950 and a brother, Thomas Harold Perry.

Mrs. Baker is survived by, two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" and David Burns of Armuchee and Carol and Ricky Mull of Armuchee; five grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Kristen Burns of Lake Wylie, SC, Kevin and Ashley Burns of Rome, Jeffrey Burns of Armuchee, Jason and Dana Mull of Ringgold, GA, and Greg and Sandy Mull of Rome, GA; and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2008, at 3:00 P.M. in the New Armuchee Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Kelley officiating. Mrs. Baker will be carried to the church on Monday to lie-in-state from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and at other hours may be contacted at 207 Floyd Spring Road, Armuchee, GA.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet at the New Armcuhee Baptist Church on Monday by 2:30 P.M.: Rená Perry, Chris Perry, Dr. Dewey Hammond, and five grandsons, Brad Burns, Kevin Burns, Jeffrey Burns, Jason Mull, and Greg Mull. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Winthrop West Assisted Living Center.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the New Armuchee Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 37, Armuchee, GA 30105.
