Kelly Chapman, 62, of Dallas, formerly of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Polk Medical Center in Cedartown. Born December 16, 1947 in Palatka, Florida he was the son of the late James Thomas Chapman and the late Lena Ross Chapman.
Kelly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of Viet Nam. Kelly graduated from Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science in 1976 and was a licensed funeral director in the states of Florida and Georgia for the last 34 years. Kelly was an active member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the Elks clubs. Kelly had been on staff at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services since 2007.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Sharon Bohannon Chapman; his son and daughter-in �law, Greg and Amanda Chapman of Hiram; his daughter and her fianc�, Alena Chapman and Matt Sandlin of Burgaw, North Carolina; his precious grandchildren, Riley Chapman, and Tanner Chapman (who lovingly referred to him as �Big Daddy�); his four brothers, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 8 p.m. on Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Greg Chapman officiating.
A second visitation will take place from 5 � 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32250. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
