Kenneth Anthony Bunch was born on November 8, 1957, in Key West, Florida, beginning a life that would touch many with his warmth and dedication. After several years of declining health, Ken passed away at the age of 67 on November 9, 2024, in Adairsville, Georgia, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy.
Ken's younger years were marked by a passion for sports, during which he attainted stellar accomplishments. A proud graduate of Calhoun High School's Class of 1975, Ken excelled in athletics, highlighted by his achievement as Calhoun High's first State Champion in wrestling. Although his budding football career ended with a knee injury, he carried the spirit of a champion throughout his life. He was a devoted Calhoun High School football fan.
After high school, Ken bravely served in the United States Air Force. He embraced the opportunity to serve his country, though his tenure was cut short due to his prior knee injury, which resulted in a medical discharge. His commitment to duty and country never waned.
Ken's family was the heart of his world. He was the devoted father of Kenneth Anson Bunch and Jeremy Bunch, alongside his beloved mother, Linda Bunch. Ken is also survived by his five brothers, Keith, Kelly, Kris, Kevin, and Kurt Bunch, as well as five grandchildren, aunts, uncles, a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and several close friends. Preceded in death by his ex-wife, Donna Bunch, and his father, James Bunch, Ken held their memories close throughout his life.
An avid outdoorsman, Ken relished the serenity and solitude found in the heart of nature. His love for the outdoors was more than a hobby; it was a refuge that provided solace and reflection. Ken lived his life with sincerity, an appreciation for simple joys, and love for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Tuesday prior to the service.
