Kenneth Ponder

Mr. Kenneth A. Ponder, 62, of Marietta and formerly of Cartersville passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Heartland Hospice House in Cartersville. Born February 3, 1946 in Kingston, he was the son of the late Gene Ponder and the late Gertrude Cantrell Ponder.
Survivors include his loving companion of 21 years, Velda Chapman; his daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Mike Fowler of Cartersville and Tiffany and Roger Brown of Buford; his granddaughters, Kaitlin Maybern, Jessica Maybern and Ansley Fowler, all of Cartersville, Nicole and Billy Brown of Gainesville, and Krista Brown, Heather Brown and Andrea' Brown of Buford; his great-grandson, Dylan Brown; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Ralph Branton of Rome, June and Hugh Boss of Cartersville, Carolyn Wolff of Cartersville, Annette and John Carroll of Kingston, and Phyllis and Ricky Cagle of Cartersville; his brother and sister-in-law, Marshall and Peggy Ponder of Cartersville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Atco Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ivey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made the Heartland Hospice House, 9 Medical Dr., Cartersville, GA 30121.
