Kevin McCourt Hood, 53, died February 24, 2019 after a short illness.
Kevin was born on July 27, 1965 in Marietta, the son of Linda Saylors and Phillip Doyle Hood. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Louise Pratt Hood and Earl McCourt Hood.
After living in North Georgia and Florida during his childhood and young adult life he moved back to Cartersville to be near family. Kevin always had a sweet disposition and an easy smile. He had a lifelong passion for music. He both played and collected guitars throughout his life.
Survivors include his cousins Sarah Alice Hood of Atlanta; Alexander Melnik Hood of Atlanta; Michael Hood of Marietta; Great Aunt Eloise Richardson and cousins Ellen Peszko of Tampa, FL; Joe Pratt of Fort Oglethorpe, TN; Charlotte Bray of Kingston and other extended family members in the Kingston area.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Kingston Cemetery with Reverend C.E. Wilkey officiating.
