Kimberly Athavale

Kimberly McMicken Athavale was born on July 21, 1988, to Norman Eddie McMicken and Susan Darlene McMicken. "Kimbo," as all of her loved ones knew her, leaves behind her husband Sanjay Athavale; daughters Eva Athavale and Lily Athavale; mother Darlene McMicken; sisters Christy Nally and Kelli (Dustin) Ross; nieces Kinsey Morgan, Emma Morgan, Jaycee Morgan, Abi Lochridge and Molli Lochridge; mother and father-in-law Mohini and Manohar Athavale. She was preceded in death by her father Eddie McMicken; maternal grandpa Johnnie Branton and her paternal grandparents C.N. and Evelyn McMicken.

Kimbo lived life to the fullest and was taken from all of us entirely too soon. Kimbo's greatest passions in life were her children, her work, and friends. Lily and Eva will forever carry-on Kimbo's love and passion for life and friendship. When not with her family, Kimbo loved being in the operating room with her husband Sanjay. The operating room was Kimberly's second home and where her and her husband fell in love and where a part of them will always stay. When not working Kimbo loved to see the world through rose colored glasses. Whether it be Italy, Mexico, or the Bahamas, she loved exploring the world.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 11:00 am with Lee Atkins and Josh Horwege officiating. Family will receive friends Monday, September 13, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cartersville Backpack Buddies or St. Jude.

Serving as pallbearers are Dima Kouznetson, Eddie Quinones, Neal Pilla, Charlie Hicks, Grant Hafner, Bruce Branton, Paxton Russell, and Ben Delahoyde.

Immediately following the graveside service there will be a celebration of Kimberly's life at In the Woods Wedding and Event Venue 2173 Cartersville HWY, Rockmart, GA 30153. Everyone is invited to join in the graveside service and the celebration of Kimberly's life.
