Kurt Amery Bunch, born on October 2, 1971, in Rome, Georgia, passed away on December 26, 2024, in Cartersville, Georgia. He was the beloved son of Erlinda Bunch and the late James Alton Bunch. Kurt had a great deal of love and respect for his parents throughout his life.
Kurt grew up in a large and loving family and is deeply cherished by his mother, Erlinda, and his brothers Keith, Kelly, Kris, and Kevin, along with their wives. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth. Kurt also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who will forever remember his warmth and kindness.
A proud graduate of Model High School in Rome, Georgia, Class of 1990, Kurt pursued higher education at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 to teach and coach.
Kurt was known for his generosity and clever sense of humor. He had a big heart and loved helping others. Basketball was one of Kurt's greatest joys; whether refereeing, playing, or watching the game, it connected him with friends and family alike. He loved teaching basketball to his nieces and nephews, and he also enjoyed being a basketball official. He was a great teammate and a trusted friend with a good heart.
A memorial service to honor Kurt's life will be held at Calhoun Church of Christ in Calhoun, Georgia, on Saturday, January 4th. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, and the memorial service is at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Kurt's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy of kindness and humor continue to inspire those he touched.
