Lela Cornelia Bagley, a beloved resident of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23rd, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on Christmas Day, December 25th, 1940, in her hometown of Cartersville, Lela lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.
Lela was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Carry Guyton, her loving husband, Clyde Ellis Bagley, her brothers Clifford and Odie Guyton, and her sister Joanne Shuler. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through her surviving family: her devoted sons David (Cathy) Bagley, Ricky (Geneva) Bagley, and Danny Bagley, as well as her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members including her best friend and sister, Dorothy Sanford.
Professionally, Lela was a dedicated machine operator at Nantucket, where she worked diligently for many years. She is remembered as a committed and hardworking individual who always had a kind word and a smile for everyone.
Lela was the true definition of a Christian, living her life with unwavering faith and compassion. She had a passion for singing gospel music, which brought joy to those around her. Her love for simple pleasures was evident in her frequent visits to Cherokee, North Carolina, and her enjoyment of watching wrestling. Lela was an independent and simple lady who found her greatest joy in the company of her family.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Willard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm prior to the service. Internment will be announced as soon as possible.
Serving as pallbearers Joshua Crisp, Justin Crisp, Jacoby Bailey, Timmy Guyton, Michael Crisp, Jason Crisp, and Derren Bailey.
