Leroy Cagle

Mr. Leroy "Scooter" Cagle, age 70, of Royston, Georgia, formerly of Cartersville died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Athens Regional Hospital. He was born in Calhoun on November 13, 1945 and was the son of the late Walter Hensley Cagle and Margaret Elizabeth Nations Cagle.

Mr. Cagle was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of Apopka First Baptist Church in Apopka, Florida. In his free time he enjoyed watching NASCAR and restoring classic cars and trucks. Preceding him in death along with his parents are his sisters, Lucile Cagle and Lillian Gentry; and his brothers, Britt W. Cagle, Minyard Cagle, Homer Cagle and Burl Cagle.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda Cagle of Royston; his daughter, Sharone Smith of Whitier, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Meagan McCollum of Whitier, Tennessee; his sisters, Ruthell Earwood of Pine Log and Hilda Faye Waits of Cartersville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremations Services with The Reverend Hoyt Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 Noon – 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Freddie Cagle, Jacob Hess, Donnie Dickerson, Tommy Cagle, Lee Stringer and Bill Adams will serve as pallbearers.
