Lewis Smith

Mr. Lewis Glenn Smith, 65, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, formerly of Cartersville, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his son's residence. Born in Fort Collins, Colorado on April 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Lewis Lee Smith and the late Jeanette Berger Smith.
Mr. Smith was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He served two tours of duty in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War as a sniper Mr. Smith was an avid golfer, loved to play softball and to scuba dive. He was retired from Lockheed-Martin in Marietta, Georgia.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Lewis "Ashley" Smith of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Eric and Kourtney Smith of Cartersville; the mother of his children, Vicki Smith of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Tabatha Smith of Atlanta, Elizabeth Smith and Nicholas Smith both of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his sister, Lynne Price of Augusta, Georgia; his brothers, Ed Smith of Helen, Georgia and Palmer Smith of Tyler, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2012 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Sammy Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 4 -7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
