Mrs. Lillian Irene Ray Butler, 90, of Cartersville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born January 21, 1926 in Emerson, she was a daughter of the late Bob Ray and the late Daisy Gravley Ray. Lillian was of the Baptist Faith and attended Millers Chapel Full Gospel Church in White. She was employed in the dry cleaning business for 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ishamel Grady "Peanut" Butler; a great-great-grandchild, Terry Reece Edward Harris; brothers, Devis Ray, Johnny Ray, Alvin Ray, and Bud Ray; and sisters, Jessie Shedde, and Fannie Mae Brawner.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, David and Sharon Bohannon, JoAnn and Austin Godfrey, Nookie and Flute Matthews, and Linda and John Wilson, all of Cartersville; grandchildren, Libby and Perry Brockman of Leesburg, AL, Tammy Harris and Barney Payne, Mary Jo Lewis, Jason Matthews, Larry Wilson, Michael Wilson, and Mandy Wilson; 18 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; very special friend, Brandon Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Josh James and The Reverend Robert Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Danny Martin, Tristin Henderson, Michael Wilson, Larry Wilson, Cody Tatum, Corey Lewis, Alvin Ray, Jr., and Josh Lockridge.
