Lillian Smith

March 8, 1917 — November 17, 2011

Mrs. Lillian Dorothy Smith, 94, of Cartersville, Georgia, formerly of Gray Gables, Bourne, Massachusetts and Melbourne, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Boston, March 8, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Captain Syvertsen and the late Hulda Hansen Syvertsen. She was preceded in death by two husbands, John L. Smith and Fredrick C. Smith; a daughter, Beverly Pavelko; and a sister, Helen Mohre.



Lillian worked at the Bourne Peebles Elementary School in the cafeteria for many years and later at the Bourne Chamber of Commerce Information Booth at the Bourne Rotary. She loved to read and vacation on Cape Cod, but was the happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.



Survivors include her son, Robert T. Smith and wife Helen of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts; her daughter, Norma (Bunny) Crawford and husband, Walter of Metter, Georgia; her son, Allen F. Smith and wife, Sandi of Rydal, Georgia; her niece, Pam Lay of Bourne, MA; a nephew, Richard Mohre of Sandwich; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.



The family will receive friends from l � 2 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2011 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, Georgia.



There will be a private funeral at the Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts at a later date.
