Linda Baker

November 22, 1947 — May 31, 2013

Linda Faye Channell Baker, 65, of Cartersville passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born in Acworth on November 22, 1947 she was the daughter of the late Otis Miller Channell and the late Rosie Adlene Johnson Channell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Baker; her brother, Jimmy Lee Channell; and her nieces, Susan Channell and Fredia Lynn Channell.

Linda was employed at the Lindale Cotton Mill until her retirement and was a member of the Lindale Church of God. She loved to read and was involved with the Widow's Ministry House in Sevierville, Tennessee. It was said of Linda "If everyone lived the life she lived, everyone would go to Heaven."

Survivors include her sisters, Iva Virginia Bridges and Bertie Louise Howren; her special brother-in-law, Jerry Howren; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Otis Earl Channell and Terri, Ricky Julian Channell and Debbie and Ronnie Aaron Channell and Sherry; her very special great niece, Ansley Elizabeth Howren; and several other special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; her very special sister-in-law, Virginia Joyce Channell; her step-children, Cheryl Baker, Reesa Baker and Jimmy Baker; and her step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Will Clonts, Reverend John Motes and Reverend Larry Woodson officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Memorial Park in Rome. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Channell, Gavin Channell, Darrell Jordan, John Dittmer, Jimmy Channell and Donald Bridges. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mike Johnson and Billy Joe McIntyre. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
