Linda Shelton

Mrs. Linda Joyce Shelton, 62, of Cartersville, died Monday, September 8, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born November 29, 1951 in Acworth, she was a daughter of the late Ray Waits, Sr., and the late Florence Marie Gravely Waits. Mrs. Shelton loved to travel to the mountains and enjoyed working in her garden. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and bird watching.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Sonny Shelton; daughters, Shannon Michelle Smith of Cartersville, and Kayla Burnett of Pine Log; a son, Jeremy Shelton of Kington; brothers, Tommy Waits of Silver Springs, FL, Ray Waits, Jr. of Acworth, Ronnie Waits, also of Acworth, and Bobby Waits of Cartersville; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Mark Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
