Linda Whitfield

Linda Darnell Whitfield, 76, of Fairmount Georgia, passed away Saturday August 7, 2021 at her residence. She was born November 6, 1944, to the late Curtis Brazell and the late Darnell Brayboy Brazell Hornsby and H.T. Hornsby of Weldon North Carolina.

Linda was also preceded in death by her husband Marvin O. Whitfield, her great-granddaughter Ashlynn Berrong, and her sister Betty Briggs.

Linda loved to fish and bowl and was active for years in league bowling at Cartersville Bowling Lanes. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at the Cartersville Lodge.

Survivors include her sons Paul (Myra) Whitfield, Greg Whitfield, and Kevin (Melanie Parsons) Whitfield; her grandchildren Dustin Lee (Jade) Whitfield, Kelsie (Brandon) Berrong, Cole (Shaw) Whitfield, Andrew Whitfield, Brandon Whitfield, and Blake Whitfield; her great-grandchildren Rylan and Stetson Berrong, Addison, and Aston Whitfield; her siblings Carol (Eddie) Pike, Deborah Murphy and (Howie) Howard Thomas Hornsby Jr.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday August 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverends Blake Whitfield, Tony Garcia, and Paul Carder officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Calhoun Georgia. The family will receive friends Monday August 9, 2021 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin, Cole, and Brandon Whitfield, Brandon Berrong, John Lochridge and Shaw Whitfield.
