Lois Butler

Mrs. Lois Butler of Rome, GA died February 6, 2010, in a Rome healthcare facility.



Mrs. Butler was born in Fulton County, KY on August 30, 1920, the daughter of the late James Holly and Sally Hammond Holly. She was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Butler was married on April of 1938 to James B. Butler, Jr. She was a teacher for many years for the Chattooga High School. After leaving teaching, Mrs. Butler graduated from the nursing program and went to work for Redmond Regional Medical Center where she retired.



Surviving are three daughters, Anita Butler Brannen and her husband, Barney of Athens, GA, with one son and one daughter, and Lynn Butler Davis of Rome with two sons, Lisa Butler Schwanbeck and her husband, Craig, of Rome with one daughter and one son; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Holly of Martin, TN. Also, a niece in Tennessee and a nephew in Michigan survive.



A Celebration of Life and interment services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 8, 2010 in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Barney Brannen officiating.
