Lois Cook

June 13, 1912 — March 14, 2009

Lois V. Cook, 96, of Marietta and formerly of Cartersville died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the A.G. Rhodes Nursing Home. Born June 13, 1912 in Bartow County, Lois was the daughter of the late Arthur Leroy Cook and the late Cora Pinson Cook. She was also preceded in death her sisters, Grace Sullins and Dorothy Moss; and her brother, Thurman T. Cook.



Ms. Cook was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church of Marietta and a faithful member of the former Gilmer Street Baptist Church. Lois was known for being a wonderful cook and was always baking a cake or making a pot of soup. Ms. Cook was also a caretaker to many.



Survivors include her brother, Ernest P. Cook of Knoxville, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special adopted friends, the Berryhill family.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Ken Ellison and the Rev. Dave Berryhill officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Holcombe, Danny Holcombe, Evan King, Phil Cook, and Avery King.



The family will receive friends from 1 � 2 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
