Lois Leonard

June 14, 1917 — October 11, 2008

Mrs. Lois Mullinax Leonard, 91, of Cartersville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at her residence. Born in Pine Log on June 14, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Robert Asbury Mullinax and the late Elizabeth Poole Mullinax. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buford Leonard; her son-in-law, Toby Fortner; two sisters; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews.



Mrs. Leonard had retired from EZ Mills after 49 years of work as a sewing machine operator. She was a huge Atlanta Braves fan who enjoyed keeping the scores of each game. Mrs. Leonard was an avid reader and had read completely through the Bible forty-four times. She also enjoyed gospel music, watching her favorite preachers on television, and was a member of Peeples Valley Community Church.



Survivors include her children, June Fortner of Cartersville, Jimmy Leonard of Kingston, Michael and Judy Leonard of Dothan, Alabama, and Renee and Dennis Harrington of White; her grandchildren, Doug and Patty Fortner of Cartersville, Wesley Fortner of Cartersville, Becky and Teddy Baker of Acworth, and Christopher Wilson of Cartersville; her great-grandson, Joshua Moore of Acworth; her sister, Dorothy House of Winder; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Larry Hufstetler and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Fortner, Terry Tidwell, Joshua Moore, Christopher Wilson, Teddy Baker, and Waymon Lanham. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. on Monday.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
