Mrs. Lois Garrett Williams, 79, of Cartersville, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Williams was born in Polk County on September 8, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Richard Garrett and Estelle Wiley Garrett. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. A hard working mother of nine, she was employed by Spring City Knitting for 18 years. She was a simple woman and one who loved her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lee Williams; her brothers, Forrest, Malcolm and Richard Garrett; her sisters, Lottie Brand and Beatrice Garner; and grandchildren, Richard Lewis, Jr., Stephen Williams and Andre' Linley.
She is survived by her children, Billy Williams of Acworth, Debra Nienaber of Atlanta, JoAnn Cowart of Griffin, Danny Williams of Acworth, Kathy Jones of Aragon, Beverly Williams of Emerson, Janice Suarez of Cartersville, Lurece Williams of Emerson and Penny Swilley of Cartersville; twenty seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Elsie Tomkowiak of Adairsville; a special caregiver, Ressie Law; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Harold Turner and The Reverend Sammy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Andy Goss, Conner Bagley, Michael Linley, Justin Smith, Adam Smith, Jacob Stone and Mondarius Maxwell will serve as pallbearers.
