Lola Gilmore

Mrs. Lola Lillymae Lawson Gilmore, age 91, of Rome, GA, died Monday, June 29, 2009.



Mrs. Gilmore was born in Floyd County, GA on January 13, 1918 the daughter of the late Lyfus Lawson and Myrtle Ingram Lawson. She was a homemaker and was a member of West End Baptist Church. Mrs. Gilmore was an avid lover of Gospel music and enjoyed playing Bingo. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gilmore was preceded in death by her husband, William Gilmore; three brothers, Alfred Lenuar Lawson, Eulie William Lawson, and Lewis Lester Lawson; and three sisters, Cora Lee Fegua, Kathleen Mildred Brock, and Louise Myrtle Milsap.



Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Christine and Ray Freeman and Edna Marie Bradfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



Graveside and interment services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Norman Money officiating. The family will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery at 1:40 P.M.



The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.
