Lorene Mullinax

Our loving mother, Lorene Paxton Mullinax, age 79, of Rome, GA, went home to be with our Lord Sunday morning in a local hospital.



Ms. Mullinax was born on July 12, 1930, the daughter of the late Lester Pruitt and Annie Storey Pruitt. She was a member of the West Rome Baptist Church and a member of the Elizabeth Roberson Sunday school class. In addition to her parents, Ms. Mullinax was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Pruitt and J W Pruitt and three sisters, Gladys Wingo, Evelyn Smith, and Hazel Pruitt.



Survivors include a son, Phil Paxton of Birmingham, AL; four daughters and a son-in-law, Hannah Nichols of Rome, Gayle Calhoun and her husband, Lawson of Marietta GA, Debra Paxton of Rome and Robin Paxton of Rome; six grandchildren; and nine great-children. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Reverend Phil Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12, 2010, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel by 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday: Tom Nichols, Chuck Henderson, Justin Sims, Halyn Pasley, Sammy Smith, and Steve Pruitt.
