Louise Chubb

Mrs. Louise Batey Chubb, age 81, of Akron, OH formerly of Rome, GA died May 6, 2009.



Mrs. Chubb was born in Terrell County, GA on June 15, 1927, the daughter of the late George Batey and Lessie Rabon Batey. She retired from Georgia School for the Deaf and was a member of the Delta Sigma Beta Sorority. Mrs. Chubb was a member of Chubb Chapel prior to moving to Ohio and while in Ohio was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Also, Mrs. Chubb enjoyed doing volunteer work for Hospice Center. In addition to her parents Mrs. Chubb was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Chubb.



Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charles McCoy of Akron, OH; a grandson, Charles McCoy II of Houston, TX; a granddaughter, Amanda McCoy of Kyle, TX; and a great-grandson, Miles Smith of Austin, TX.



Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Elder William Davis, Rev. Kenneth Jones, Rev. Elliott Sams, and Rev. Homer Bryson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour in the Oaknoll Chapel McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel on Wednesday by 1:30 P.M.: Demetrius Bray, Ben Chubb, Eddie Chubb, Jerome Sams, and Melvin Whatley. The ushers will be Ola L. Caldwell and Mary A. Montgomery.
