Louise Fairchild

Mrs. Louise "Lou" Fairchild, of Old Summerville Road, Rome, GA, died Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2006, at her residence.Mrs. Fairchild was born in Floyd County, GA on April 26, 1920, the daughter of the late Alonzo Summerville and Carrie Payne Summerville. She was a very active member of the North Rome Church of Christ where she had been a member for 25 years. Mrs. Fairchild worked at Dillinger's Textile mill for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking, working out in the yard and flowers. Mrs. Fairchild loved singing and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband, Wilbert Edward Fairchild.Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great -nephews.Funeral services for Mrs. Fairchild will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Sims and Rev. Ralph Wallin officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:45 pm Saturday and include the following, Terry Duncan, Tom Duncan, Randall Heard, Eugene McGill, Chris Perry and Stephen McGill. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Wear, Tony Ploof, Zach Ploof, Charles Gladden, Rene' Perry and John Garrett.The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel tonight (Friday) from 7:00 until 9:00 pm.The Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the services for Mrs. Louise "Lou" Fairchild.
