Louise Johnston

Mrs. Louise Hollingsworth Johnston, age 91, of 2413 Turkey Mt. Road. Rome, GA died Saturday morning November 28, 2009 at a local hospital.



Mrs. Johnston was born in Gordon County, GA on January 5, 1918, the daughter of the late Edward Hollingsworth and Maude Whelchel Hollingsworth. Mrs. Johnston was of the Baptist faith. She loved working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Johnston loved being with her family as a loving, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her husband, Smiley Johnston, August 3, 1997.



Survivors include her children, Claudia Bobo and her husband Dwight and Brenda Atkins and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Tracy and William Baines, Wade and Heather Cook, Leigh and Adam Pledger and Ben and Kerri Atkins; great-grandchildren, Hannah Cook, Morgan Baines, Madison Cook, Jace Baines and Haley Hulsey and a great-great-grandchildren, Noey Madrid.



A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 30, 2009, at 1:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. William Landers and Rev. Mark Cosby officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery.



The family did receive friends Sunday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Heritage

Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet at the funeral home on Monday by 12:30 P.M: Jerry Johnston, Sam Lowery, William Baines, Robert Atkins, Ben Atkins and Frank Windler.
