Louise White

Mrs. Louise Hawkins Dillard White, age 81, of 152 Walenda Drive, NW, Rome, GA, died Sunday, October 28, 2007, at a local hospital.

Mrs. White was born in Floyd County, GA, on October 2, 1926, the daughter of the late John Henry Hawkins and Lillian Chandler Hawkins. Mrs. White retired from Rome Manufacturing Company after serving as a supervisor for many years. Mrs. White was of the Baptist faith and also attended First Assembly of God and Floyd Spring Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. White is preceded in death by her husband, Howard White on August 26, 2006; three brothers, Otho Hawkins, J.W. Hawkins, and Otis Hawkins; and three sisters, Alba Rountree, Jewell Deason, and Alvaleen Dew.

Mrs. White is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lillian Dillard, Sr. of Rome and Jerry and Ann Dillard Montgomery, AL; a daughter, Glenda Bowman of Adairsville, GA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Estelle Owens of the Floyd Springs Community. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with J. Parnick Jennings, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. White will remain in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and at others can be contacted at 152 Walenda Drive, NW, Rome, GA.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Wednesday by 12:30 P.M.: James W. Dillard, Jr., Scottie Bowman, Bradley Bowman, Kevin Brown, Phillip Gunnels, Matthew Gunnels, Chuck Bailey, and Noble Agan.
