Loura Popham

April 6, 1918 — May 16, 2010

Loura Kate Terrell Popham, 92, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 after an extended illness. Born April 6, 1918 in Cartersville, she was the daughter of the late Henry Aaron Terrell and the late Annie Belle Moor Terrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul �Doc� Popham; her sister, Anna Eloise Brooks; and her brothers, Andrew Pierce Terrell, William Jack Terrell, and Howell Henry Terrell.



Loura was a retired hairdresser and had been employed as a hairdresser at J.P. Allen and Rich�s of Atlanta before retiring from Rich�s. She had also studied design at the Parson�s School of Design in Baltimore, Maryland. Loura was also a gifted seamstress and cook who loved music and fashionable clothing. She was very proud of her membership with the Daughters of the American Revolution, and she was an active member of Grace Baptist Church until she became too ill to attend.



Survivors include her nieces and their husbands, Anne and John Senechal of Weaverville, North Carolina, Alice Terrell and Neal Collins of Jonesboro, Tennessee, and Candy and Butch Smith of Lexington, North Carolina; her nephew and his wife, Doug and Joan Terrell of Sand Point, Idaho; a great nephew; two great nieces; several cousins; and special friends, Marlene and Cliff Torok of Cartersville.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 7 � 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
