Mr. Lowell Thomas Cooke, 73, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at his residence.
Born September 21, 1939 in Lenoir, North Carolina, he was a son of the late William Barney Cooke and the late Anna Lee Trivett Cooke. Lowell was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of the VFW Post 5408 in Acworth, and the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. He had a great love of music and could play many different instruments by ear. He also enjoyed photography and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Cooke, his step-daughter, Jennifer, and his brother Blaine Cook.
Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Swanson of Jasper, GA, and Sherri Riley of Cloquet, MN; son, Steven Cooke of Duluth, MN; sisters, Kathleen Cooke and Joanne Moore, both of Lenoir, NC; step-children, Kevin McGinty, Dale Dyer, and Paul Davidson; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
