Luanne Cranston

Miss Luanne Cranston, age 49, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, July 5, 2010. Luanne passed away peacefully at home following a courageous year-long battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or, Lou Gehrig�s Disease). Born in Hogansville, Georgia on January 21, 1961, she was the daughter of the late John Cranston and the late Maxine Argo Cranston both life-long residents of Hogansville, GA.



Luanne was a Registered Nurse, and an alumnus of Presbyterian College, Clinton, SC and Emory University, Atlanta, GA where she graduated in 1984. She worked for 20+ years in LaGrange, GA for West Georgia Medical Center. Luanne was passionate about her role as a Certified Diabetes Educator and most recently worked for the Harbin Clinic in Rome, GA. While at Harbin, she was instrumental in setting up the Diabetes Management Program at several locations.



It was Luanne�s joy to serve her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ in every endeavour, including the year she spent in Russia serving with CO-Mission International in 1995.



Survivors include her aunts, Mary Frances Cranston, Louise Argo Kennedy and Mary Argo and numerous cousins. Luanne also leaves behind a host of friends including her special caregivers, Brock and Linda Cooney.



Luanne�s family and friends would like to thank the wonderful family at Harbin Clinic for their love and care. We are also grateful for the dedicated and helpful staff at the Emory ALS Clinic.



No one who knew Luanne will be surprised that her selflessness follows her into eternity as she has graciously donated her body to Emory�s ALS clinic. At Luanne�s insistence, there will be no further services.
