Lucile Goodwin Hazlewood, 91, of Cartersville Georgia, passed away on April 29, 2023 at her residence.
She was born on January 16, 1932 to Joseph Wesley Goodwin and Minnie Pearl Helton Goodwin. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Minnie Goodwin; her husband of 63 years, Floyd Lee "Junior" Hazlewood; siblings, Baby Josephine Goodwin, Charles "Son" Goodwin, J.W. "Cooter" Goodwin, and Horace "Hoddie" Goodwin.
Ms. Lucile was a proud member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She loved visiting and serving others, if you came to her house you (and your pets) were always fed. She adored people and animals; she loved to cook and feed her family.
Survivors include her children, Elvie Sutton, Beverly (Darryl) Broadaway, Jo Anne (Frank) Miller, and Joe Lee (Pam) all of Cartersville; sisters-in-law Juanita Goodwin, Barbara Ann Goodwin, and Joyce Goodwin; grandchildren, Jessica (Steve) Wells, Jason (Tiffany) Hazlewood, Brandon (Ashton) Broadaway, and Cody Broadaway; great-grandchildren, Brooke Wells, Courtney Hazlewood, Alexis Wells, Kalyrie Wells, Jordan Hazlewood, and Asher Broadaway.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverend David Baker and Reverend Robby Chastain officiating. She will lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cassville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Hazlewood, Brandon Broadaway, Cody Broadaway, Jordan Hazlewood, Gerald Goodwin, Scott Goodwin, and Ryan Goodwin.
Flowers will be accepted, but for those who choose, donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church. Donations may be sent to P.O. Box 585 in Cassville, Georgia 30123.
