Lucile M. Popham, 95, of Emerson died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Cedar Spring Healthcare in Cedartown. Born June 21, 1914 in Emerson, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. McEver and the late Georgia Paris McEver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W.D. Popham; her daughter, Judith Carol Popham; and her brother, Frank McEver.
Lucile was employed as a machine operator at EZ Mills until her retirement. She was a member of the Emerson United Methodist Church, the EZ Mills retiree club, and the Bartow Seniors.
Lucile was an avid cake baker and was known for her great cooking abilities. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Lucile was �granny� to all and loved being with her family.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Madge and Lee Sneed of Emerson; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Amy Popham of Emerson; her grandchildren and their spouses, Terry L. Sneed of League City, Texas, Pam Sneed Patterson and Greg Patterson of Cartersville, Michael and Ashley Sneed of Greenville, South Carolina, Craig Popham of Emerson, and Erin Popham of Emerson; her great-grandchildren, April Sneed Blackmon, Drew Patterson, and Luke Patterson; her great-great-grandchild, Bentlie Sneed; and a host of other special relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Greg Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Emerson City Cemetery. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
