Lucille Parker

June 14, 1926 — January 16, 2008

Mrs. Lucille "Granny" Parker, 81, of 297 Griffin Rd., Cartersville, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Born June 14, 1926 in Fitzgerald, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Summey and the late Bessie Mae Woods.

Granny loved arts and crafts and gardening. She especially loved flowers. Granny was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church and had been employed by King Edwards Cigar Company and retired from Nantucket Industries. She will be missed by many who knew her simply as "Granny".

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Del and Judy Adcock of Cartersville, James and Deborah Parker of Chatsworth, and Douglas and Julie Parker of Rydal; her sister, Louise Walker of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Roland Fred Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Cassville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Roberts, Mark Harris, Jason Martin, Donald Harper, Cody Adcock, and Tyler Porter. Pallbearers are requested to be at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. on Friday.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville.
