Mrs. Lucy Woodall Gilley, 78, of Cartersville, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at her residence. A native of Bartow County, born April 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William Harry Woodall and the late Eunice Brown Woodall.
Mrs. Gilley was a member of Woffords Crossroads Baptist Church and was a stay at home mom. She was a great wife and mother, very outgoing and had a great personality. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Eunice Lanelle White; and two brothers, James W. Woodall and William Theodore "Blackeye" Woodall.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Virgil Gilley; her daughter, Lorri Gilley of Cartersville; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Darlene Davis and husband (Mervil) of Cartersville, Patricia Ann Abernathy and husband, Earl of Marietta, and Marian Elizabeth McDaniel and husband, Michael of Cartersville; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Weldon Eugene Woodall and wife, Betty of St. Augustine, Florida, Billy Lee Woodall and wife, Betty of White and Kenneth Wallace Woodall and wife, Hazel of Cartersville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Keith Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Vic Woodall, Todd Woodall, Clinton Woodall, Chad Woodall, Lee McDaniel and Ryan Acord.
