Mary Lynne Egan Ireland, 74, of Cartersville Georgia, died on November 17, 2023, at Manor Lake in Cartersville. She was born on December 11, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late John Egan and Bonnie Bickley Egan.
Survivors include her doting husband, James Ireland; her children, Sean Ireland (Rhonda) and Jennifer Hunt (JR); grandchildren, Allyson and Emily Ireland; and brothers, Mike Egan and Terry Egan (Patti); and nieces and nephews.
Lynne was a family-oriented woman who loved her children deeply. She was devoted to her family, and she was an example of someone who always put the needs of her family above all else. Lynne's strong personality and toughness carried her through difficult times and made her family's life wonderful. She was the glue of her family. She was an avid reader and a big fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Leigh Jones officiating. The family will host a gathering of friends from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the church's fellowship hall. Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the FPC memorial gifts fund.
