Mack Waters

Mr. Mack Dorsey Waters, age 84, of Rome, GA died on Friday, June 11, 2010 in a Rome health care facility.
Mr. Waters was born in Rockmart, GA. on March 7, 1926, the son of the late Mack Duff Waters and Ottie Mae Jones Waters. Mr. Waters was employed for a period of 40 years with Georgia Power Company and was also a member of the Georgia Power Retirees Association. Mr. Waters served as a interim-pastor for the Church of Christ serving at several churches in the Floyd County and surrounding areas. Mr. Waters was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during World War II. In addition to his parents Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his wife Annie Muriel Waters and by a brother Billy Waters.
Survivors include a son Tony Waters of Rome, GA; daughters, Nancy Jane Stansell of Rome, GA and Rita Jean Newmarker of St. Simons Island, GA; six grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kitty Littlejohn of Long Beach, CA, Dot Sims of East Point, GA and Sue Hudson of Chattanooga, TN also survive.
Graveside and interment services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Oakland Cemetery with Brother Doug Sims officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet at the Heritage Chapel on Monday by 1:00 P.M.: Jason Stansell, Ronnie Wilkerson, John Geany, Kevin Allen, Jack Stansell and Ray Stansell.
