Madeline Sligh

Madeline C. Sligh, 95 of Cartersville, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2023 at her residence following an illness.

Madeline was born in Bartow County on December 27, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Elisha and Agnes Cornett. She is also preceded by her first husband, Herbert Lamar Brock; second Husband Clarence S. Sligh; and several brothers and one sister.

She was a homemaker and a wonderful baker. She loved the Atlanta Braves, gameshows, and scratch offs.
Survivors include her children, Patty Fortner & husband Doug, Lamar Brock & wife Joyce, and Kim Scoggins & husband Mike; granddaughters, Haley Brock and Erin Morrison & husband Doug; a very special great grandson, Harrison Heath; brother, James Cornett & wife Cille; sisters, Gayle Payne, and Brenda Nix & husband Joe; numerous nieces and nephews; and her very special dog, Bo.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Sunset Memory Garden with Reverend Joe Nix officiating. A visitation is being held at the funeral home from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Thursday prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Brock, Doug Morrison, Tyler Scoggins, Mark Cornett, Jeff Payne, Todd Payne, Harrison Heath, and Reed Bohannon.
