Mantley Mcclure

Mantley A. McClure, Jr., 76, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009 at his residence. Born January 7, 1933 in Gilmer County, he was the son of the late Mantley Alvin McClure, Sr. and the late Velma Ann Smith McClure. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Martin McClure; his twin brother, Mantley Augustus McClure; his brothers, Frank McClure and C.A. McClure; his sister, Vera Hunt; and his brother-in-law, Larry Tanner.
Mr. McClure was a retired supervisor from Lewis Carpet, and he was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Dahlonega.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Faye McClure; his children and their spouses, Mavis and Larry Allen, Cheryl Lynn and Harold Wood, and Velma "Bambo" and Brian Fuller; his step-children, Jimmy Freeze, Angela Deck, Paula Freeze, and Melinda Woody; his grandchildren and their spouses, Rachel and Ned Hulsey, Rhonda and Jerremy Atkins, Lanny Allen, Joshua and Brandy Vinall, Preston Wood, Christy and Jay Ivey, Leighanne and William Regan, Lance and Stephanie Hensley, Kayla Hensley, Mantley Tyler Hensley, Jessica and Johnny Grindle, and Brian and Stephanie Jennings; eleven great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Estelle and Clayton Reece, Gladys and Dorsey Gibson, Helen Reece, Carolyn Parker, and Bennie Tanner; his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Agnes McClure; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services and at 2:00 p.m. in Siloam Baptist Church in Dahlonega with Rev. James Bennett and Rev. Mack Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerremy Atkins, Ned Hulsey, Lanny Allen, Brian Fuller, Mantley Tyler Henlsey, Brian Jennings, Preston Wood, and Stevie Tanner. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Larry Allen, Harold Wood, and Joshua Vinall.
The family wishes to thank Southland Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
