Margaret Lewis

Mrs. Margaret Barron Lewis, age 88, of Rome, GA, died Friday, December 25, 2009 in a Rome hospital.



Mrs. Lewis was born in Chattooga County, GA on March 27, 1921, the daughter of the late Henry Frank Barron and Clessie Owings Barron. Mrs. Lewis worked for a number of years in the credit department at Sears. She was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Lewis and a sister, Frances Honea.



Survivors include two sons Dr. Jimmy B.Lewis and his wife Sandra of Jasper, GA. and Bob Lewis of Marietta, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Jonathan and Ela Lewis and Jeremy and Beth Lewis; great-grandchildren, Frances Morgan Lewis, Jonathan Barron Lewis, Jr. and Isaiah Thurman Lewis.



Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.

in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home with her son Dr. Jimmy B. Lewis, Dr. Tony Brooks, Rev. Katrina Brooks and Dr. Hugh Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.



The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.



In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the North Broad Baptist Church, 1309 North Broad Street, Rome, GA. 30161.
