Margaret "Margie" Morton, aged 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Born on October 17, 1955, Margie was a cherished member of the Cartersville community, known for her compassion, dedication, and love for her family and friends.

Margie spent her life devoted to caring for others, a passion she fulfilled through her esteemed career as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. Her commitment to helping those in need was unwavering, and she touched countless lives with her kindness and expertise.

Outside of her professional life, Margie was a devoted family woman who adored her loved ones. She is survived by her son, Seth Morton, and her grandsons, Riley and Brooks Morton, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her father, Carl Morton, her sisters, Mandy Dupree (Jeff) and Mona McBrayer (Greg), her brother, Michael Morton, and her stepdaughter, Stefanie Leonard. Her legacy continues through her many beloved nieces and nephews.

A woman of many interests, Margie loved reading and cherished her time at the beach. The sound of the waves and the pages of a good book were her solace. She took immense joy in watching her grandchildren grow and was a constant source of support and inspiration to her family.

Margie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Peggy Morton, and her husband, David King. Their memory remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Margie's legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched, both professionally and personally.

She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
