Margie Filson

Margaret "Margie" Filson, 66 of Cartersville passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born on November 5, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Joseph Piracci and the late Margaret Bristow Pirraci. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Piracci.

Margie was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed family gatherings, she was happy to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her family and they were a source of great pride in her life. Margie was a member of Community Bible Church. She loved karaoke and church music.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Michael Filson; her daughter, Colleen Filson Collins; her son, Shaun Filson (Pamela); her granddaughters, Chastidy Collins, Brittany Collins, Lauren Collins, and Evelyn Filson; and her sisters, Christine Ciotta (Paul), and Mary Jane Pope (Stephen).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Mr. Pat Pieters officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the funeral home.
