Mrs. Margie Thompson, 82, of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born February 28, 1930 in Cassville she was the daughter of the late Grover Matthews and the late Nancy Watkins Matthews. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Wilson and Richard Thompson; her grandson, Dustin Alexander; her brother, Mack Matthews; and her sisters, Callie Harris, Arlevia Long and Elsie Wilson. Margie was a Jehovah Witness who loved to cook and garden. She loved flowers.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Brenda Wilson of Cartersville; her daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Jerry Welchel of Cartersville, Nancy and Chris Alexander of Euharlee and Karen Wilson Smith of Cartersville; her grandchildren and their spouses, Tracey and Rudy Alford, Darren and Heather Wilson, Melisa and Anthony Carroll, Haley Alexander and Kaitlen Smith; five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her special niece, Betty Jean Holmes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 on Monday, February 4, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Brother Mark Bower officiating. Burial will follow in Salocoa Cemetery in Fairmount. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darren Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Tim Wilson, Ronnie Long, Ricky Matthews and Randy Harris. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 Monday.
