Marguerite Hicks

Mrs. Marguerite Peyton Hicks, age 90, of Rome, GA died Monday, April 19, 2010, in a local hospital.



Mrs. Hicks was born in Rome, GA on March 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles Lester Peyton and Mary Edwards Peyton. She retired from Trend Mills and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Marvie Milner Hicks; a daughter, LaMerle Saxon; two brothers, Charles Wesley Peyton and Carlton Lester Peyton; and a sister, Clara Mae Huckeba.



Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and David Compton and Karon and Ray Jones all of Canton, GA; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eloise Brown of Rome, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



Graveside and interment services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dan Willis officiating.



The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel by 1:15 P.M. on Wednesday: Chris Jones, David Compton, Matt Evans, Mike Jones, Pete Peyton, and Milton Brown.
