Marie Fowler

Mrs. Marie Fowler, 75, of Cartersville, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Bartow County, July 13, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Marion Whitener and the late Mary Nation Whitener.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Eugene, David and Homer Whitener, and Betty Kelley; one grandchild, Chadi Doby. Mrs. Fowler was a member of the Open Bible Wesleyan Church and enjoyed quilting, square dancing and cooking.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bud Fowler; her children, Steve Leachman (Lynn) of Cartersville and Darlene Huskins (Mike) of Ellijay; one granddaughter, Melissa Hicks (Mike) of Cartersville; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Doby, Emorie Robinson and Makenna Hicks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, February, 16, 2014 at the Open Bible Wesleyan Church with the Reverend Larry Huskins officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Robinson, Mike Hicks, William Pickle, Grant Davidson, Kenneth Kelly and Steve Leachman.
